The Senior Project Officer will primarily engage in evaluation projects to enhance VACCA's evidence-informed practice. This involves crafting monitoring and evaluation frameworks for VACCA programs, assisting in implementing these frameworks, and actively participating in various project stages. Responsibilities include designing program Logics and M&E plans, reporting findings, and facilitating program reflection. The Senior Project Officer will also assist the RED team in other projects and tasks as necessary.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a deep commitment to VACCA's values and purpose, an understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and the challenges facing Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia. They must possess excellent written communication skills and be proficient in applying evaluation standards with integrity and respect for all stakeholders. Moreover, they should have a solid grasp of evaluation theory and methodologies, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods, and be adept at conducting literature reviews and developing data collection tools. Experience in creating program descriptions, assessing program evaluability, and navigating organisational and political contexts is essential. Additionally, strong project management abilities encompassing client negotiations, task scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment are required. The candidate should be committed to continuous professional development and possess strong interpersonal skills for internal consultancy and conflict resolution. Lastly, they should be capable of operating effectively under limited direction.
