Join our Social Health and Wellbeing Services team who serves as the primary point of contact for people facing multiple complex challenges in their lives.

Our team provides a wide range of support, including crisis support, essential needs assistance, addressing everyday essential requirements, including food parcels, showers, toiletries, personal hygiene products, clothing and after-hours meals, alcohol and other drug support, as well as various groups and activities.

The position

The demand for our services is growing. To ensure that we can offer the best possible crisis support to those in need, we are seeking a Community Engagement Support Worker, who will be responsible for identifying individuals with underlying needs, risks, and vulnerabilities when they visit our sites.

You will:

  • Have tertiary qualifications in social work, social science, welfare or a related discipline.
  • Be experienced working with individuals who have multiple complex needs, including those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, rough sleepers living with mental health, alcohol and other drug issues, and the ability to make appropriate referrals.
  • Ideally, you’ll have case management experience and have a working knowledge of navigating the intricacies of external services.
  • More importantly, you will be an authentic, compassionate and empathetic communicator who is non-judgmental to our guests who are marginalised and living on the fringes of society.
