About the role

This position sits within the Mental Health Pathways Cluster and has a leadership role within the Youth Residential Recovery Program (YRR). The Senior Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach will have a small caseload and will maintain positive working alliances with the Program Facilitator, Practice Excellence Coach, and other Senior Workers to provide support to staff through coaching and role modelling.

Your duties include:

• Provide recovery-oriented services to young people utilising recovery and coaching principles
• Provide support to young people with regards to enhancing skill development in the residential environment
• Provide onsite leadership, secondary consult, expert advice, and practice support to staff across the program

Our ideal candidate:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant relevant experience.
• Extensive experience in working with young people who may have a range of complex needs.
• Demonstrated experience in and/or understanding of residential service provision in health or community services, particularly mental health and/or experience in site management.

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Statutory Declaration, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses). Additionally, some roles will also require current AHPRA registration and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

Roles that are determined to be Risk Category A or B [staff that have direct and/or indirect contact with body substances and are at higher risk of occupational exposure to infections] will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza prior to commencement [A] or within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders for COVID-19 and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.
